Course Overview
The AHA PALS course is designed to provide healthcare providers with the knowledge and skills necessary to efficiently and effectively manage critically ill pediatric patients. The course focuses on a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation, and team dynamics.
Syllabus & Core Objectives
1Systematic pediatric assessment: evaluate, identify, and intervene
2Recognition and management of pediatric respiratory distress and failure
3Recognition and management of shock (hypovolemic, distributive, cardiogenic, obstructive)
4Pediatric cardiac arrest algorithms and advanced vascular access (including IO access)
5Pediatric resuscitation pharmacology and dosage calculations
6Post-resuscitation stabilization and monitoring
7Airway management devices specific to pediatric anatomy
8Simulated pediatric code team dynamics
